Akshay Kumar’s Bhooth Bangla is proving to be a steady performer at the box office, holding its ground well even after the opening weekend frenzy. The horror-comedy has entered its second weekend with a noticeable drop, but the overall trend remains encouraging, especially in overseas markets.
With a balanced contribution coming from India and international territories, the film is showing signs of a stable run rather than a frontloaded one. The latest numbers indicate that the march towards a significant worldwide milestone is very much on track.
Second Weekend Sees A Drop, But The Trend Stays Healthy
In its second weekend overseas, Bhooth Bangla collected approximately USD 1.10 million. This reflects a 56% drop from its opening weekend (excluding previews), which is a standard fall, but the hold remains decent in the film’s context.
The total overseas collection now stands at over USD 4.80 million. With ₹131 crore already coming from India, the worldwide box office total has reached ₹176 crore. At this pace, the ₹200 crore mark globally looks well within reach during its full run.
Australia & Fiji Emerge As Key Drivers Of Overseas Success
The strongest performance has come from Australia and New Zealand, which has traditionally been a favorable circuit for Akshay Kumar films. Notably, Australia recorded just a 30% drop in the second weekend, indicating a strong hold and sustained audience interest.
Fiji, reported along with New Zealand, has turned out to be a standout market. The film is currently the biggest Indian film of the year there, comfortably ahead of Dhurandhar: The Revenge. It is also on track to enter the all-time top five highest-grossing films in the territory. Interestingly, this is a circuit where comedy entertainers like Housefull 4 and Total Dhammal have historically performed very well.
UAE-GCC Leads The Pack, ₹6M+ Overseas Lifetime On Cards?
UAE-GCC has emerged as the top overseas market for Bhooth Bangla, contributing approximately USD 1.35 million so far. Other key markets have also supported the run, keeping the film’s international performance steady.
Based on current trends, the film is heading towards a USD 6 million-plus lifetime total overseas. If momentum sustains, it also stands a strong chance of surpassing Housefull 5 in the international circuit.
Territorial Breakdown Reflects A Well-Distributed Run
A closer look at the territory-wise collections reveals a well-balanced performance across regions. The United States has contributed USD 975,000, followed by Canada with USD 710,000.
Australia has brought in USD 550,000, while New Zealand–Fiji combined have added USD 250,000. The United Kingdom stands at USD 525,000, and Nepal has contributed USD 125,000. The Rest of the World accounts for USD 350,000.
With UAE-GCC leading at USD 1,350,000, the cumulative overseas total now stands at USD 4,835,000.
₹200 Crore Worldwide Milestone Within Reach
With ₹176 crore already in its kitty, Bhooth Bangla is now comfortably heading towards the ₹200 crore mark worldwide. The film’s steady trend, coupled with consistent overseas support, suggests that this milestone could be achieved without major hurdles.
At the moment, the Akshay Kumar starrer is not just surviving but steadily building its box office footprint, both domestically and internationally.
