Ranveer Singh has delivered a historic box office performance with Dhurandhar 2, which has taken an extraordinary opening at the Indian box office. As per early trends, the film has collected around ₹144–145 crore on its first day, making it the biggest opening in the history of Hindi cinema.
The film has surpassed the previous record held by Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan, which had opened at ₹75 crore, effectively doubling the benchmark and setting a new milestone.
Dhurandhar 2 began its theatrical run on Thursday, March 19, with strong occupancy across India. The film reportedly earned around ₹100–101 crore on its opening day, while paid previews contributed an additional ₹44 crore.
This brings the total day 1 collection to an impressive ₹144–145 crore net, placing it just shy of the ₹150 crore mark — a feat never achieved before in Hindi cinema.
While Dhurandhar 2 has dominated Hindi cinema, it stands as the second biggest opener in Indian cinema overall. The only film ahead of it is Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2, which opened at ₹179.25 crore.
With this achievement, Ranveer Singh has surpassed the opening day collections of several massive Indian blockbusters, securing a top position in the all-time list.
