Dhurandhar 2 The Revenge
Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge has taken a massive opening at the box office, establishing itself as one of the biggest Day 1 performers in Indian cinema. Despite facing challenges like show cancellations and delayed regional releases, the film has managed to deliver impressive numbers both domestically and overseas.
The film collected ₹102.55 crore net on its opening day across 21,728 shows in India. After early adjustments, the India net total stands at ₹145.55 crore, while the gross collection in India reached ₹172.63 crore.
Overseas markets contributed ₹64 crore, taking the worldwide Day 1 total to a strong ₹236.63 crore. These numbers firmly place the film among the biggest global openers from India.
The Day 1 performance was largely dominated by the Hindi version, which alone contributed ₹99.10 crore with an impressive 73.6% occupancy.
Other language collections remained limited:
This clearly indicates that while the film had a pan-India release, its primary strength came from the Hindi belt.
Dhurandhar 2 has emerged as the biggest Day 1 opener in Bollywood in terms of net collections. It has surpassed major films like:
With ₹99.10 crore from Hindi alone, the film has set a new benchmark for Bollywood openings.
Despite missing the top spot, Dhurandhar 2 has secured its place among the biggest Day 1 openers in Indian cinema.
This puts the film in the fourth position overall.
The film’s opening day numbers were affected by several factors. Some regional versions faced delays in censor certification, leading to show cancellations in select markets.
Trade estimates suggest that if all versions had released smoothly, the Day 1 collection could have been 15–20% higher. Despite these hurdles, the film still delivered a strong opening.
Dhurandhar 2 also created history in advance bookings. It sold 109K tickets within a single hour on BookMyShow, breaking the previous record of around 107.60K tickets per hour set by Pushpa 2.
This makes it the fastest-selling film in terms of hourly ticket sales on the platform.
With a worldwide opening of ₹236.63 crore, the film has built a solid foundation. The upcoming weekend performance and its hold in key markets will play a crucial role in determining its long-term box office success.
If the film maintains strong momentum and benefits from full-scale screenings across regions, it has the potential to emerge as one of the highest-grossing films of the year.
