The wait just got longer, but the scale just got grander! Jr NTR’s much-hyped collaboration with Prashanth Neel has finally locked a new release date, and it’s not coming anytime soon. Originally slated for 2026, the film has now been pushed ahead, raising expectations sky-high among fans.
Touted as a massive action spectacle, NTRNeel (reportedly titled Dragon) has been making noise ever since its announcement. And now, with a powerful new poster drop and a firm date in place, the makers have officially set the stage for a grand cinematic “reign.”
Taking to social media, Jr NTR unveiled a striking new poster featuring himself in a dominant silhouette avatar, instantly sending fans into a frenzy. The caption read, “HIS REIGN… HIS SOIL… JUNE 11, 2027… IT IS…,” confirming the film’s new theatrical arrival.
Initially planned for June 25, 2026, the film has now been postponed by nearly a year. While delays often raise concerns, in this case, it clearly signals a larger vision, bigger production scale, and a more refined cinematic experience—something director Prashanth Neel is known for delivering.
Adding to the buzz, the makers have also announced a special glimpse release on May 20, 2026, marking Jr NTR’s 43rd birthday—a strategic move that could ignite pre-release hype well in advance.
On the casting front, the film continues to remain in the headlines. Rukmini Vasanth is expected to play the female lead, while Anil Kapoor is said to have a significant role.
Earlier, there were strong reports of Tovino Thomas joining as the main antagonist. However, the Minnal Murali star has now confirmed stepping away due to prior commitments in Malayalam cinema.
The latest industry chatter suggests that Shahid Kapoor is in talks to take over the antagonist’s role. While there’s no official confirmation yet, if this casting coup materializes, it could massively boost the film’s pan-India appeal.
Before NTRNeel, Jr NTR was seen in War 2, sharing screen space with Hrithik Roshan. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the film is a sequel to the 2019 blockbuster War and forms a crucial part of the YRF Spy Universe.
The film also featured Kiara Advani and Anil Kapoor in key roles and is currently streaming on Netflix.
A delay of nearly a year might seem like a setback on paper, but in true Koimoi-style box office language, this could be a “calculated push for a monstrous ROI.” With Prashanth Neel at the helm and Jr NTR leading the charge, NTRNeel is shaping up to be a high-voltage theatrical beast.
If the content lands and the hype sustains, June 11, 2027, might just witness a roaring box office storm.
