The Bollywood drama The Kerala Story 2 continues its steady performance at the Indian box office. Starring Ulka Gupta, the film witnessed a noticeable growth in collections on its third Saturday (Day 16) after maintaining stable numbers during the third Friday.
The film has managed to sustain audience interest even in its third week and has now crossed an important 50% return on investment (ROI) milestone.
On its 16th day, the film earned an estimated ₹2.96 crore net at the Indian box office. Compared to the ₹1.5 crore collected on Day 15, the film registered an impressive 97% jump in daily earnings.
With this growth, the film’s total India net collection has reached approximately ₹44.33 crore, which translates to around ₹52.3 crore gross. With the current momentum, the film is expected to cross the ₹50 crore net mark soon.
Week 1 – ₹22.9 crore
Week 2 – ₹16.97 crore
Day 15 – ₹1.5 crore
Day 16 – ₹2.96 crore
Total – ₹44.33 crore (India net)
The film was reportedly made on a budget of ₹28 crore. Against this production cost, it has already earned ₹44.33 crore net, generating a profit of ₹16.33 crore so far.
This translates to 58.32% returns, allowing the film to cross the 50% ROI milestone. As per trade parameters, the movie has secured a “Plus” verdict at the Indian box office.
The Kerala Story 2 is directed by Kamakhya Narayan Singh and produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah under the banner of Sunshine Pictures.
Apart from Ulka Gupta, the film also stars Aishwarya Ojha, Aditi Bhatia, Sumit Gahlawat, Arjan Singh Aujla, Yuktam Khosla, and Alka Amin in important roles.
The film was released in theatres on February 27. While it received mixed to negative reviews from critics, it has managed to attract a section of the audience. On BookMyShow, the film holds a strong audience rating of 9.2/10 based on more than 22,000 votes, indicating positive word-of-mouth among viewers.
