Bhooth Bangla - Akshay Kumar, Wamiqa Gabbi
Akshay Kumar’s Bhooth Bangla has entered its second week at the Indian box office on a stable note, despite a visible reduction in showcasing. After wrapping up its opening week with over ₹90 crore net, the film continues to hold attention, especially considering the actor’s recent theatrical performance trend.
The horror-comedy now faces minor competition and screen reduction, but early indicators suggest it is still on track for a respectable second Friday. The weekend factor is expected to play a key role in sustaining momentum.
With the arrival of Michael in full-fledged release and a fresh Hindi film Gunni Wedss Sunny 2, Bhooth Bangla has seen a decline in its screen presence. The total show count for Day 8 stands at approximately 9,600, down from 11,700 on the previous day, marking a drop of around 2,100 shows.
This reduction is expected to have a direct impact on footfalls. However, the film’s average ticket price remains controlled at ₹217, which keeps it accessible for a wider audience segment.
In terms of pre-sales, Bhooth Bangla recorded the sale of around 97,000 tickets before the first show on Day 8. This marks the first instance where advance booking has dipped below the 1 lakh mark.
Despite this drop, the film has managed to gross approximately ₹2.27 crore (excluding blocked seats) through advance booking. The numbers indicate a moderate but stable trend heading into the second weekend.
Based on current advance booking trends and expected walk-in audiences, Bhooth Bangla is likely to collect in the range of ₹5 crore net on its second Friday. This would be considered a decent hold, especially given the reduced showcasing and new competition.
A steady Friday performance will be crucial in setting up growth over Saturday and Sunday, where the film is expected to witness an uptick due to weekend demand.
When compared to Jolly LLB 3, Akshay Kumar’s previous release, Bhooth Bangla is performing significantly better in its initial phase. The current trajectory suggests that the film is well-positioned to maintain a stable run through its second week.
If weekend growth aligns with expectations, Bhooth Bangla could strengthen its box office standing further and move closer toward a successful theatrical verdict.
