Bhoot Bangla - Akshay Kumar
Bhooth Bangla kicked off its box office journey with promising numbers, fueled by curiosity and the much-hyped reunion of Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan after 14 years. The horror comedy managed to pull audiences to theatres over its opening weekend, showing strong initial traction.
However, the real test began on Monday—and the film couldn’t quite hold its ground. As Day 5 trends emerge, the numbers indicate another dip, even though the film is still heading towards a notable global milestone.
After enjoying steady footfall during its first three days, Bhooth Bangla witnessed a sharp fall on its first Monday. The dip has clearly impacted the film’s weekday trajectory, raising concerns about its sustainability at the box office.
Trade trends suggest that while the opening weekend was driven by curiosity, the film is now heavily dependent on word-of-mouth. The Day 5 performance indicates that the downward trend is likely to continue, at least in the short term.
Bhooth Bangla collected around 2.50 crore in overseas markets on Day 4, taking its total international earnings to 29 crore. The worldwide total stood at 106.34 crore after four days.
For Day 5, the film is expected to earn in the range of 2–3 crore overseas. While this reflects a steady hold, it also highlights the absence of any major surge in international territories.
Despite the ongoing dip, Bhooth Bangla is set to cross the 110 crore mark globally on Day 5. While this achievement adds a positive headline, the pace at which the film is moving has slowed considerably.
The key concern now lies in whether the film can stabilize during the weekdays or continue to slide further, impacting its lifetime total and overall box office verdict.
One of the biggest highlights of Bhooth Bangla has been the reunion of Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan, along with Akshay’s return to the horror comedy genre after five years.
The film also boasts a strong supporting cast including Paresh Rawal, Tabu, Rajpal Yadav, Mithila Palkar and Jisshu Sengupta, with the fresh pairing of Akshay Kumar and Wamiqa Gabbi also grabbing attention.
Bhooth Bangla has managed to cross the 110 crore mark globally, but the journey ahead looks challenging. The sharp Monday drop followed by another expected dip on Day 5 signals that the film has lost its early momentum.
Unless the word-of-mouth turns favourable quickly, this Akshay Kumar starrer might struggle to maintain a strong hold in the coming days.
