S.S. Rajamouli’s Varanasi To Debut At Comic Con Experience Mexico 2026; Global Buzz Builds Ahead Of April 2027 Release

S.S. Rajamouli is set to take his next ambitious project, Varanasi, onto the global stage, continuing his streak of expanding Indian cinema’s international footprint. Following the worldwide success of his previous films, the filmmaker is now positioning his upcoming action-adventure spectacle as a major global event.

As part of this strategy, a special presentation of Varanasi has been scheduled at Comic Con Experience Mexico 2026, marking a significant milestone in the film’s promotional journey ahead of its theatrical release.

The film will be showcased on April 24 at the Thunder Stage through an exclusive panel titled “Varanasi to the World.” The segment will be presented by producer S. S. Karthikeya, who is expected to offer attendees a curated glimpse into the making of the film. The presentation will include behind-the-scenes footage along with a special video message from filmmaker S. S. Rajamouli. A live interaction session with fans is also planned, adding an interactive dimension to the global reveal.

Varanasi, featuring Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Prithviraj Sukumaran, has already generated strong pre-release buzz owing to its scale, casting, and the director’s established global appeal. The film previously made an early international impression at the Trailer Festival held at Le Grand Rex, where its first glimpse reportedly received an enthusiastic response from audiences.

The promotional assets released so far — including Mahesh Babu’s look as Rudhra, Prithviraj Sukumaran as Kumbha, and Priyanka Chopra Jonas as Mandakini — have contributed significantly to online traction, driving conversations across social media platforms and strengthening anticipation levels.

With its upcoming showcase in Mexico and increasing international visibility, Varanasi appears to be building momentum well in advance of release. Based on the current trajectory, the film is expected to sustain strong global interest through its promotional cycle, particularly across key international markets where Rajamouli’s previous films have performed well.

Varanasi is scheduled for a theatrical release on April 7, 2027. While early indicators point toward a wide global rollout strategy, further details regarding distribution scale and market-specific plans are currently not available.
