The Mummy (2026)
Hollywood horror seems to have found its footing yet again at the Indian box office, and The Mummy is making sure the momentum stays intact. After a decent start over the weekend, the film has shown a strong hold during weekdays, something that’s often rare for this genre.
Directed by Lee Cronin, the film is not just sustaining but actually growing, which is a massive positive sign. With each passing day, the numbers are indicating that this horror flick might just turn into a surprise success story.
On its first Tuesday, The Mummy collected Rs. 2.25 crore, marking an impressive 11% jump over its opening day. This kind of growth on a weekday clearly reflects strong audience interest and positive traction.
With this, the film’s total India gross has reached Rs. 13.25 crore in just 5 days, putting it on a solid path as it heads towards the end of its first week.
The horror flick is now expected to wrap up its first week at around Rs. 17 crore, and if the current trend continues, the lifetime projections have been revised upwards significantly.
Initially, a finish around Rs. 20 crore seemed likely, but with these strong holds, the film could now aim for a Rs. 30 crore lifetime, which would be an excellent result.
It may not match the long legs of films like F1 The Movie or Project Hail Mary, but the current trajectory clearly points towards a Clean Hit verdict in India.
Interestingly, The Mummy is performing best in the South Indian circuits, with Tamil Nadu emerging as a major contributor. The consistent footfall from these regions is playing a key role in maintaining the film’s strong weekday trend.
Total: Rs. 13.25 crore
While this film isn’t directly connected to the earlier Mummy franchise, the title recall has certainly helped. The earlier films enjoyed massive popularity in India, and that familiarity seems to have contributed to the initial footfalls.
The Mummy is doing what many films fail to—grow after release. With a strong weekday hold and increasing collections, the film is steadily marching towards a successful box office run.
If this trend continues through the second weekend, a Clean Hit verdict won’t just be a possibility—it’ll be a certainty.
