Bhoot Bangla Box Office Collection Day 2: Akshay Kumar-Priyadarshan’s Horror-Comedy Hits ₹60.50 Cr Worldwide, Beats Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 But Falls Short Of Stree 2’s MONSTROUS Start!

Bhoot Bangla, marking the much-awaited reunion of Akshay Kumar and filmmaker Priyadarshan after a decade, is off to an impressive start at the box office. Despite mixed to positive word-of-mouth, the horror-comedy has managed to clock strong numbers in just two days, comfortably crossing the ₹60 crore mark worldwide.

The film, which hit theatres on April 17, opened on a promising note and has continued its upward trajectory on Day 2, indicating healthy audience interest in this genre entertainer.

The groundwork for this opening was laid well in advance. With advance bookings contributing ₹3.32 crore in gross revenue and paid previews adding another ₹3.50 crore net, Bhoot Bangla had already built significant buzz even before its official Day 1. The film eventually collected around ₹12.25 crore on its opening day, selling approximately 1.3 lakh tickets and setting the tone for the weekend.

What’s noteworthy is that this opening day figure has surpassed the ₹14.50 crore debut of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, giving Bhoot Bangla an early edge within the horror-comedy space.

The real jump, however, came on Day 2. The film collected a strong ₹19.00 crore net across 11,513 shows, taking its total India net collections to ₹35.00 crore. The India gross now stands at approximately ₹42.00 crore, reflecting a solid hold and growth on its first Saturday.

Overseas markets have also contributed significantly, with ₹9.00 crore coming in on Day 2 alone, pushing the total overseas gross to ₹18.50 crore. This takes the worldwide gross collection to an impressive ₹60.50 crore in just two days.

While these numbers are undoubtedly strong, Bhoot Bangla still trails behind the genre’s biggest opener, Stree 2, which had a thunderous ₹55 crore opening day. It also couldn’t surpass Thamma, which recorded ₹24 crore on Day 1. However, outperforming Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 gives it a solid foothold in the competitive horror-comedy space.

Backed by Balaji Motion Pictures and Cape of Good Films, the film boasts an ensemble cast including Wamiqa Gabbi, Tabu, Rajpal Yadav, and Jisshu Sengupta alongside Akshay Kumar.

With such momentum on its side, all eyes are now on how Bhoot Bangla performs over the remainder of its opening weekend. If the current trend continues, the film is well on track to post a strong extended weekend total and emerge as a major box office contender.
